About the federation
The Bahamas Chess Federation is the governing body for chess in The Bahamas. We run the national championships, keep the ratings, train arbiters and select the teams that represent The Bahamas abroad.
Our mission
To develop chess throughout The Bahamas with rated national events, junior programmes and strong national teams.
The federation sanctions tournaments, publishes the rating list and selects national teams for the Chess Olympiad and youth events.
It is run by an elected council of volunteers. Clubs and schools affiliate to the federation, and players join as members.
Our vision
Chess clubs on every major island and a Bahamian title holder at the Olympiad.
